Sliding & Pocket Doors

Sliding & Pocket Doors

Sliding Steel Doors - Pocket Doors

Our sliding, multi-sliding, and pocket steel doors are engineered to create wide openings and uninterrupted views. Designed for modern architecture, they offer smooth operation, structural performance, and design flexibility.

We also have the option of hiding the panels on the wall, practically like this, the feeling of opening the door.

Benefits:

  • Custom design
  • Variety of settings
  • Thermal performance
  • High-tech and quality mechanisms
  • Durability due to hot-dip galvanized steel treatment
  • Ease of maintenance
  • Quick installation
  • Maximization of light input
  • Slim profiles

How Sliding Steel Doors Work

A sliding steel door runs on a track system — typically top-hung with a bottom guide — and travels parallel to the wall. Panels glide laterally and stack to one or both sides when open. Single-panel systems are the simplest; multi-panel configurations with 2, 3 or 4 panels span very wide openings while stacking compactly.

Opening Widths

Sliding systems work well from roughly 6 feet to 20 feet or more. Individual panel widths are typically held to 4–6 feet for structural and operational reasons, so at very large openings a system may combine fixed panels with sliding panels that pass in front of them rather than moving every panel.

If you are weighing configurations for a wide opening, the bi-fold vs. sliding comparison covers how each system scales, what it costs in stack width, and the maintenance difference between a track and a run of hinges.

Pocket Doors

Where the wall can accommodate it, panels slide into a pocket and disappear entirely, leaving the opening completely clear with no visible stack. This has to be coordinated with the wall assembly early — it is a framing decision as much as a door decision.

Why Steel

Steel carries roughly three times the tensile strength of aluminum, which keeps sightlines narrow across long spans where other materials need heavier frames. Every unit is hot-dip galvanized as standard — which matters on sliding systems, where track hardware lives in the same environment as the panels — and finished in powder coat from the full RAL palette. See finish options.

Glass and Energy Performance

Large sliding assemblies mean large glass areas, which makes the glazing package central to the envelope calculation rather than an afterthought. Review glass options, see Title 24 requirements, and where the calculation demands it, the thermally broken ECO-SKY line. NFRC ratings and labels supplied for submittal.

What We Need to Quote

Rough opening dimensions; wall assembly type; whether a pocket is possible; glass performance requirements; finish color and type; hardware preferences; and any special conditions. For projects under $20,000 we typically respond within 5–7 business days; $20,000 to $100,000 takes 7–10 business days. See the full ordering process.
